Background built around finance and real estate

Mortgage & Real Estate Watch grew out of a career spent studying credit, capital markets, real estate and financing decisions from several different angles.

Stan began his mortgage career after completing finance studies at California State Polytechnic University and joining Wells Fargo Bank as a Loan Officer. At Wells Fargo, he completed the bank’s Commercial Credit Training Program and received the Loan Officer Action Plan Award, voted on by Branch Managers across the Los Angeles market.

He later worked for John C. Cushman III, former Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield and Founder of Cushman Realty Corporation, and Donald Koll, Founder of The Koll Company. Those experiences helped build a foundation in real estate finance, market research and brokerage operations.

Stan went on to earn his MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, attending on a full scholarship and serving as Class President. His graduate work further strengthened the analytical finance perspective he brings to mortgage strategy and market commentary.

He has also built and managed his own real estate investment portfolio and securities hedge fund, giving him firsthand experience with the opportunities, risks and tradeoffs investors face.

Why Mortgage & Real Estate Watch exists

The goal is simple: make the forces moving mortgage rates and real estate easier to understand — without reducing complex markets to a headline.

Rates & Bonds

Translate the market

Track the 30-year fixed mortgage rate, the 10-year Treasury, mortgage-backed securities and the technical trends influencing borrowing costs.

Housing

Put data in context

Look beyond price headlines to transaction volume, inventory, affordability, buyer behavior and the forces changing local real estate markets.

Borrower Education

Turn information into options

Help borrowers understand how rate, cost, payment, loan structure, time horizon and refinance strategy can work together.

Mortgage experience across a broad range of programs

At West Capital Lending, Stan works with a broad wholesale lender network and evaluates financing structures based on the borrower, property, goals and market environment.
